Frequently Asked Questions:
How much will it cost?
If you call or email me to ask how much a repair may cost I can generally give a ballpark figure. My prices are typically in line with most qualified and competent luthiers. The best way is to schedule an appointment so that I may see the instrument. I will evaluate the problem(s) and give a repair estimate. It is rare that the cost would exceed the estimate.
How long will it take?
Generally smaller repairs (ex. setups) take less than a week. Larger repairs such as neck sets with refretting could take as much as a month depending on where you are in line. Finish work can take as long as 3 months. Keep in mind that I only finish with nitrocellulose. Finish work can be very expensive so don't be surprised! Being a musician myself, I understand how it is to be without your favorite instrument. With this in mind, whatever the repair, I will return your instrument as quickly as possible.

Musicians that need their instruments for their livelihood receive priority!
Martin Warranty Repair
Martin warrants their guitars to the original owner. To take advantage of
their warranty, the owner should have registered his or her guitar or have the
original sales receipt. When the guitar is brought in for warranty work, I
assess what repairs are needed and covered. A work authorization is then
given to me by Martin's Customer Service. Once I receive the authorization, I begin the repairs. The customer is responsible for any non-warranty work that is performed. When the customer picks up the instrument, he/she will sign and date the work authorization form. That's all there is to it... Hey, this is one of the reasons you buy a Martin.
Taylor Warranty Repair
Taylor warranty generally works pretty much the same as Martin
